The upcoming 2024 Mazda CX-90 is making quite a fuss because Brookfield drivers are asking, “Is Mazda replacing the CX-9?” Well, the answer is yes! This all-new addition to the Mazda lineup will replace the Mazda CX-9 as the brand’s premium three-row SUV. The 2024 Mazda CX-90 will showcase Mazda design and performance at its very best, with two engine and drivetrain options to choose from as well as a plethora of cutting-edge tech and spacious comfort.

While details are still forthcoming, Frank Boucher Mazda of Racine has put together this Mazda CX-90 preview to give New Berlin drivers a hint of what’s in store for the performance, safety, and technology of this new third-row Mazda. 2024 MAZDA CX-90 Preview: Performance

The Mazda CX-90 will have two distinct options for drivers to choose from: a traditional gas engine platform or a plug-in hybrid platform. This will make the Mazda CX-90 the first-ever Mazda plug-in hybrid, paving the way for future electric advances in the Mazda lineup. If a more traditional gas engine is more your speed, the 2024 CX-90 will offer a 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo engine with a mild hybrid component, allowing you to save money on fuel even without a full hybrid or plug-in hybrid engine.

Both of these impressive drivetrains will feature an 8-speed transmission, standard i-Activ AWD®, and Kinematic Posture Control for smooth shifting, expert handling, and enhanced corner stability on the Racine roads. Drivers will have a choice of several available driving modes through the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) to suit the road conditions at hand, including Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Towing modes. While exact Mazda CX-90 specs for engine performance aren’t available yet, we can be sure these drivetrains and features are built to impress.

2024 MAZDA CX-90 Preview: Safety & Technology

All Mazda CX-90 models will come standard with the Mazda i-Activsense® safety suite of driver assistance features. This suite will include several features to keep you and your passengers safe as you drive such as rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist and departure warnings, and the Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go. Families can also rest easy with the new Rear Seat Alert that will keep the whole crew safely together.

• Center Infotainment Display: Choose between a 10.25-inch and 12.3-inch display, the latter being the largest Mazda infotainment display available.

• Mazda Connected Services: Receive a complimentary 3-year trial to Mazda Connected Services, allowing you to check your vehicle’s status, remotely start the engine, and more from your MyMazda App.
• Bose® Audio System: Enjoy an available 12-speaker premium Bose® audio system as you cruise around Waukesha.
• Wireless Charging: Charge your devices on the go with the available wireless charging pad.
