Available exclusively as a sedan, this is the entry-level trim. It offers tremendous automotive value and comes with an excellent selection of Mazda 3 features. It has an 8.8-inch center screen controlled by a rotary dial. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The 2027 Mazda3 comes with a new eight-speaker audio setup. Mazda’s i-Activesense® is bundled in and provides safety features like radar cruise control and automatic emergency braking. The 2.5 S also has 16-inch alloy wheels and cloth upholstery for the seats.
This trim has bolder styling and some convenience upgrades. It’s available as a sedan or hatchback. The exterior has darker touches, including black metallic 18-inch alloy wheels, gloss-black side mirrors, and a dark front grille. The cloth seats are replaced with black leatherette. There’s also a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift know. Dual-zone automatic climate control is included. It also has a rear seat armrest complete with cupholders for the passengers.
The Preferred trim starts to add some luxury features to the mix. It’s an excellent choice for drivers who spend a lot of time on local interstates. A power sliding-glass moonroof is installed, and the body-colored side mirrors have integrated turn signals. The driver’s seat is now power-adjustable and has lumbar support and memory settings. The 2.5 S Premium shifts the focus directly to driving enthusiasts. It’s an exclusive option for the Mazda 3 hatchback trim levels. This model has front-wheel drive paired with a six-speed manual transmission, so the driver is in control of gear selection. The dashboard gets an Active Driving Display that projects full-color speed and navigation info onto the windshield. Passengers are treated to a 12-speaker Bose sound system with custom aluminum speaker grilles. Adaptive front lighting is also added to the 2.5 S Premium trim, which steers the headlights into curves as you turn the wheel.
The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus is the highest of the Mazda3 trims. It adds some executive-level comforts as well as more engine power. It’s equipped with a 2.5-liter turbo engine that cranks out 250 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. or torque on premium fuel. It comes with standard all-wheel drive. The display is upgraded to a 10.25-inch infotainment system that allows touchscreen control when using a smartphone app. Some executive amenities round out the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.
